Rizzo Admits He Wants to Play in San Francisco

The world of Chicago Cub fans came to a halt earlier today when first baseman Anthony Rizzo addressed the media about his future. Rizzo made a statement that had the hearts of diehards skip a beat. Earlier today when Rizzo was talking about his baseball future, he mentioned wanting to play in San Francisco. In case you are not following the World Baseball Classic, do not worry. Rizzo was not talking about playing baseball for the San Francisco Giants. As things stand, he is under contract with the Cubs until 2018, so even if he did want to play for the Giants at some point in his career, there is little chance he will get there until his rookie deal with the Cubs has reached the end.

Instead, Rizzo was talking about wanting to play in the World Baseball Classic championship game, which just so happens to be held in San Francisco.

Personally, I hope the Italian team has an early exit so he can get back to Cubs camp as soon as possible, but I hope he has a great WBC.
