Bonus Venting

The Cubs lost in epic fashion tonight.  It was spectacular and glorious.  In some ways it was predictable, but they were facing a very good Reds offense and did not have their best defense in place.  This is as good a time as any to vent, even though it’s still April.

Things we know to be true…

  1. The Reds are good.
  2. The Cubs are bad.
  3. Dave Sappelt probably shouldn’t be allowed to play much anymore.

Other things to keep in mind…

  1. Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo will not be demoted.
  2. Dale Sveum will not be fired (yet).
  3. Walking the winning run on base is usually a very bad idea.
  4. Cesar Izturis is still in MLB for some reason and is also better than the Cubs.

18 down, 144 to go.  Think you can handle it?

  1. At first I was mad that the game was not on WGN meaning I couldnt watching it since I live in Upper Michigan. Once the game was over, I was glad I only had to suffer watching the pitch by pitch gamecast on cubs.com. Unfortunately this is reality for the cubs this season.

  2. This is completely frustrating at this point. If we can’t close out a game, we will never be hanging that W flag. Sveum just might lose his job if this continues. You’re right about Rizzo and Castro. They aren’t going anywhere. We had this game (and multiple others) but we always find some way to choke. The life of a Cubs fan…..
