Hey everyone, I’m Kid 20 K, the newest contributor to this fine blog, but before I get deeper into my opinions on the Cubs, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I’m 20 years old, turning 21 in just over a week, and am about to be a senior at Eastern Illinois University where I’m majoring in broadcast journalism with a double minor in Communication Studies and Kinesiology/Sports Studies. I basically eat, sleep, and breathe sports, more specifically baseball and even more specifically Cubs baseball.
My username is a tribute to my first great Cubs memory, Kerry Wood‘s 20 Strikeout game, back in 1998 when I was sitting around at the ripe old age of 5. That game has stuck with me and is really why I chose the Cubs for the rest of my life, despite living in a Southwest suburb of the city (Lockport).
Now as for how I feel about the current Cubs, I place all of my trust and belief in Theo, Jed, and the process, and I wish everyone else could do the same, and not go complaining because we’re not winning yet. These things take more than one season to build, and I definitely think the pieces are coming together, with Rizzo, Starlin, and Samardzija along with several others I think will lead this team for years to come.
On this blog I’ll be airing my thoughts about the Cubs as they come up and I have a chance to write them, as well as some poetry from time to time.
I hope this has helped you all get to know me a little bit better, and I look forward to sharing my Cub-related thoughts with you from here on out.
