Pitchers are my favorite and I would have to say that Justin Verlander is #1 in that category. There is just something so sexy about a man that has so much control and command over a baseball. He’s one of the best pitchers in all of baseball and has won almost every award and broken almost every record in MLB pitching. Prior to the 2013 season, Verlander and the Tigers reached a seven-year, $180 million contract, with a $22 million vesting option for 2020 if he finishes in the top five in Cy Young Award voting in 2019. This contract made him the highest-paid pitcher in MLB history. Currently he is questionable on whether or not he’ll be the Opening Day starter. If Verlander isn’t ready it will be an obvious loss for the Tigers as he is one of the best pitchers in baseball and has been the Tigers’ Opening Day starter for most of his career. He also hasn’t been on the disabled list at any point in the last eight seasons, but this injury could jeopardize both of those streaks. We’ll have to see if he can overcome this little set back, which I think he will because Verlander, is anything but ordinary. I’m sure Kate Upton agrees with me.
