We continue our countdown of the 20 Hottest MLB players today. Here is today’s pick:

#8 – Grady Sizemore

CF|Boston Red SoxSizemore

Born: August 2, 1982
Birthplace: Seattle, WA
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 200lbs.
Bats: Left Throws: Left
MLB Debut: July 21, 2004 (Indians)

Although he hasn’t appeared in a major league game since September 22, 2011 due to injuries, that didn’t stop the Red Sox from signing him. The biggest concern for Sizemore as he enters the 2014 season will be the condition of his right knee. In September of 2012, Sizemore underwent knee surgery and spent the entire 2013 season out of baseball rehabbing. The Red Sox hope he’s healthy enough to replace some of the production lost when Jacoby Ellsbury signed with the Yankees. In eight major league seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Sizemore has hit .269 with 139 home runs, 458 RBIs and 134 stolen bases in 892 games. It’s unfair to think that he’s going to put up big numbers like he did in his early years but it’s not a high-risk signing for the Red Sox either way. His best years came between 2005 and 2008 when he averaged .281, 27 home runs, 81 RBIs, 116 runs scored and 29 stolen bases per season while missing just nine games total. If Sizemore is healthy, makes the team and is even a fraction of his former self, he could be a great addition to the team. One thing that is for sure is that the Red Sox just got a lot sexier.
