Tonight feels like Christmas Eve because I am so excited for tomorrow. Why you ask? Baseball is finally here, the boys are back, pitchers and catchers report. I’ve been waiting for this moment since last season ended. Before that happens though, I know you guys want to know who’s in my #2 spot. So, let’s continue our countdown of the 20 Hottest MLB players, here is today’s pick:

#2 – Buster Posey

#28|C|SF GiantsBuster

Born : March 27, 1987
Birthplace: Leesburg, GA
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 220lbs.
Bats: Right Throws: Right
MLB Debut: September 11, 2009 (Giants)

Where do I even begin with Posey? Let’s see, maybe that he was rookie of the year in his first season, he was MVP in his second full season and that his MVP year came the year after he suffered one of the most gruesome injuries in a home-plate collision. He’s a catcher with a batting title (.336 in 2012) and a great arm, throwing out 32% of baserunners. He handles his pitching staff like few others do and has two World Series rings to prove it. Even with all his success, there are still struggles. He had a subpar year by his standards in 2013, which was mainly due to a decline in production in the second-half. The drop-off in production was especially surprising because it came after Posey’s 2012 MVP campaign. Posey reported that he added about 10 pounds this offseason and there’s no telling just how much effect the added muscle will have on his performance but one thing is for sure, Buster Posey has already accomplished so much. Buster Posey is a winner.
