South Bend Cubs: that (other) guy at shortstop

In the US, 18 year old Gleyber Torres cannot buy alcohol (21), rent a car (25) or run for President (35). Here’s what he can do:

In 66 games this season, Torres has 80 hits, has scored 35 runs, has 11 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers, 42 RBI, 28 walks and 10 stolen bases. His .319 BA leads the team as does his .797 OPS and his .387 OBP. As we discussed previously, he was a starter in the Midwest League All Star game.

Gleyber’s goal is to make it to Chicago but he knows that it’s a process and he has to put the work in.

So listen to Carrie Muskat- if you get a chance, go see Gleyber Torres play.
