Hey kids! The Chicago Cubs are leading the NLDS 2-1 over the Cardinals now! On a night when Jake Arrieta wasn’t exactly at his best, the offense exploded for an 8-6 victory while holding back a late charge by the Cards. In this victory, the Cubs set a new postseason record with six homers in a game:
#Cubs 1-6 in the order:
1. Fowler: Solo HR
2. Soler: 2-run HR
3. Bryant: 2-run HR
4. Rizzo: Solo HR
5. Castro: Solo HR
6. Schwarber: Solo HR

Kyle Schwarber started the scoring with a solo shot:
The Cardinals would claw back against Arrieta, but Jorge Soler can’t be retired:
Like, he literally cannot make an out. It won’t last, but I like what’s happening right now.

Dexter Fowler would cap the scoring (all by homers) with a solo shot of his own.
I think Theo Epstein is feeling pretty smart about this team.

As for us Cubs fans, I’m sure we feel pretty good right now. Both ALDS matchups are going the distance. The Mets and Dodgers should probably just beat up on each other before the NLCS, as we hope the Cubs close it out in Game 4. On to Tuesday!
