The Professor Takes the Phillies to School

On a day when the wind was blowing out and the offense wasn’t as prodigious as we have been used to, Kyle Hendricks gave the bullpen a breather after Friday’s rain-delayed victory.  As you can see, Hendricks needed only 104 pitches (and probably less if a couple of plays had been made behind him, but that’s baseball) to go the full nine as the Chicago Cubs won their series against the Philadelphia Phillies, with a chance for the sweep on Sunday.  Check out the highlights below:

After a prolonged slump in which they were actually playing a bunch of close games, with decent pitching as we’ve been expecting since the season started, the Cubs have won four in a row and have a shot at going 20 games over .500 before the month of May is over.  And you were worried!
