Earlier this week, South Bend area Cubs fans were treated to, what I consider to be, one of the best fundraisers of the year. At two local Applebee’s restaurants, SB Cubs players worked as servers and hosts and all tips accrued during their two hour “shift” were donated to Memorial Children’s Hospital in South Bend.
Right now at @Applebees on Ireland Road in South Bend, come #TipACub. Tips go to Memorial Children's Hospital. #Cubs pic.twitter.com/YZNjVmGutK

And much more so than last year, the players really did a lot of work – seating people, bringing drinks & food etc. In fact, while we were at the South Bend Applebee’s, Jesse Hodges worked the entire hour and a half we were there. He definitely gets the Tip-a-Cub MVP!

Eloy Jimenez, Jesse Hodges, Bryant Flete, Josh Silver, Sutton Whiting, Tyler Alamo and Kyle Miller were at the SB Applebee’s and were super friendly with the staff, the customers and signed a ton of autographs.
Chris Hagstrom was in charge and the whole thing seemed to go off without a hitch. Baby Cubs and Applebee’s staff took a quick break for this photo.
And Chris Hagstrom even got Tyler Alamo and Sutton Whiting to do a #simbacam photo for posterity.
Here are photos from the Granger Applebee’s. If anyone was there and wants to send me names & photos, feel free.

Having seen so many SB Cubs games in person, my kids were spectacularly unimpressed. Their focus? Playing games on tabletop system and eating hot wings and steak. However, this little lady WAS impressed – with Tyler Alamo especially.
In other news, Congrats to Preston Morrison who was just named Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
